Transforming Laundromats into Community Hubs
What if a laundromat became one of the most impactful community spaces in America for a day?
That is exactly what happened during this year’s National Laundry Day, led by LaundroLab and supported by 2ULaundry, where locally owned laundromats across the franchise system provided free laundry services to families in need while spotlighting the growing issue of hygiene poverty.
The results were significant. Across the LaundroLab franchise network, locations from Las Vegas to Burlington, Vermont to St. Petersburg, Florida washed approximately 81,269 pounds of laundry, representing a 50% increase year over year from the 2025 National Laundry Day initiative.
Charlotte, NC served as one of the standout markets. Across three participating locations, in collaboration with The Laundry Project, the event delivered:
- 143 families served
- 500+ individuals supported
- 1,865 loads washed
- 18,650 pounds of laundry cleaned
- 1,275 detergent pods distributed
- 150 laundry bags distributed
- 150 children’s books distributed
More than a one-day giveaway, National Laundry Day is an innovative example of how laundromats can serve as trusted neighborhood hubs that meet practical needs, create dignity, and build connection. It also showcases the unique relationship between LaundroLab’s modern retail laundromat model and 2ULaundry’s pickup and delivery platform, combining convenience, entrepreneurship, and community impact.
