Laundry University Acquired by Jamie Sewell

Laundry University, the online training platform that has become a go-to resource for wash-dry-fold operators nationwide, has been acquired by Jamie Sewell, a longtime leader and innovator in the commercial laundry space. Founder Colleen Unema, who built the platform from the ground up beginning in 2022, is retiring.

The handoff marks a milestone for a platform built to solve one of the industry’s most stubborn problems: the training gap. Every operator knows the math. A poorly trained employee doesn’t just cost time — they cost customers. Laundry University was designed to close that gap with structure, speed and a standard every team member can be held to.

“Every owner has felt the pain of a bad hire or inconsistent Wash & Fold services. Laundry University fixes that,” Sewell said. “When your team is trained right and gets up to speed in a fraction of the time, everyone wins — the business, the employee, and the customer.”

The platform offers four structured training levels covering the fundamentals of establishing and scaling professional laundry services, culminating in a certification that sets a universal baseline of excellence across an entire team.
