How To Save Time At The Laundromat

Going to the laundromat is something that most consumers are doing more of than ever before because they don’t own a washer and dryer at home and need to get their clothes clean.

Thankfully, the weekly trip to the laundromat doesn’t have to be something that’s a huge waste of time especially when these tips are followed.

Tip #1 – Get Your Laundry Ready Before You Go

One of the biggest things that can take up a lot of any consumers time is getting their laundry ready before they can start washing it.

Sadly, it can take the average person 30 minutes to sort their laundry and pre-treat stains and this means that if these tasks are done at the laundromat, that’s time wasted.

The solution to the problem is to pre-treat stains and sort laundry by fabric type, and color before going to the laundromat. Doing this first means that laundry can immediately be placed in washers upon arrival and the average time spent doing laundromat can be shortened by 30 minutes.

Tip #2 – Always Set A Timer On Your Phone, Or Use A Laundry App

Another helpful tip for saving time at the laundromat is to always set a timer on your phone for when the laundry will be done. Doing this will help laundry to get finished quicker because it won’t sit in the washer for 5-10 minutes, once the timer goes off, you can easily move that load of wet laundry into the dryer.

Besides setting a timer, another helpful thing to do is to look for a laundromat that offers a free app download that can be used for tracking the cycle on the washer or dryer.

Laundromats that offer apps like LaundryPay are easy to find these days because they make it possible for consumers to make their payments through the app and track the cycles of the washers/dryers they are using.

Tip #3 – Know When To Go To The Laundromat

The reality is that a laundromat is a business, and like any shop it’s going to have peak hours. This means that there could be some hours of the day that are busier than others.

How do you know when to go to the laundromat? Use tools like Google My Business to research the hours that the laundromat is open, before you go, or consider utilizing a service that will pick up your laundry and deliver it back to you once it’s been finished.
