Success Story: Fivefold Laundromat Columbus, Ohio
Matt Charney of Fivefold Laundromat shares how leaving corporate America led him to laundromat ownership. Watch his story to see how his partnership with H-M Laundry helped bring his store together.
At Fivefold Laundromat in South Columbus, laundromat technology played a key role in a full Huebsch® retool that turned an existing store into a refreshed space built around service, touch controls and a more straightforward customer experience.
What started as a lighter update quickly became a full renovation. For Matt, the project also marked a move away from corporate America and into a business that felt more independent and more hands-on. A partnership with local distributor H-M Laundry helped Matt’s vision take shape.
Touch controls made sense for the unattended store model. Drawing on prior experience with kiosk adoption, Matt brought that same thinking into his store, giving customers a simple, self-directed way to interact with the commercial laundry equipment. Modifier use also helped create more options at the machines while helping the store stay easy to navigate. The result is a laundromat shaped by practical decisions, service-minded thinking and a partnership that helped bring Fivefold Laundromat to life.
